JamWise is an educational music platform. We turn any K-8 topic into a curriculum-aligned music video. Any subject, any genre, 60 seconds. Teachers play them during warm-ups, brain breaks, and reviews. We have 1,000+ jams across math, science, ELA, social studies, and SEL. The product is going live soon (we're pre-revenue), it's built and working.
What we need is the person who gets it into every school in the country.
You'd be the business half of a two-person founding team. I built the product. You run growth, partnerships, and operations — school relationships, teacher acquisition, hiring, fundraising. If you've spent years in K-12 and know the people who make buying decisions, this is your role.
What you'll own
• School partnerships and district relationships — you know how schools buy software, who signs off, and when budget cycles hit
• Growth strategy — teacher acquisition through the channels that actually work: word of mouth, conferences, Facebook groups, curriculum directors, pilot programs
• Operations — hiring, budgets, vendor relationships, and the day-to-day of building a company
• Fundraising — pitch decks, investor conversations, grant applications
• Curriculum credibility — you don't need to write the curriculum, but you need to know what "standards-aligned" means and why a teacher cares
• Product direction — you'll shape what we build based on what teachers and schools actually need
What I'm looking for
• Deep roots in K-12 education — you've worked in schools, with schools, or sold to schools, and you have the relationships to prove it
• You know the difference between a principal's discretionary budget and a district procurement process
• Experience in edtech, education nonprofits, curriculum publishing, or school administration
• You've built something before — a program, a department, a company — and you know what it takes to go from zero to traction
• Comfortable being the face of the company with school partners, investors, and press
• Strong operator — can run a budget, manage a hiring pipeline, and keep things moving without a playbook
• Bonus: existing relationships with district buyers, curriculum coordinators, or state education agencies
• Bonus: experience with FERPA/COPPA compliance and school data privacy
What I bring
• A working product — 1,000+ jams, 5 subjects, 10 genres, K through 8th grade
• Full technical leadership & team — AI pipeline, web app, mobile app, infrastructure
• A free tier that teachers can use with no procurement, no IT, no budget approval
• A clear competitive gap — the incumbent charges $120/year for hip-hop only; we offer 10 genres for free. We offer better music, better videos and awesome games.
What this isn't
• This isn't a marketing hire. You're not running Facebook ads. You're building a company.
• This isn't advisory. You're working full-time, making decisions, and sharing the weight.
• This isn't salaried — yet. Equity-only to start. That's the honest reality of where we are.
On compensation: Equity-only to start — 15 to 25% — because this is a co-founder role, not a job. Salary comes with revenue or fundraise. If equity-only doesn't work for your situation, I respect that. If it does, and you have the school connections to put curriculum-aligned music in every classroom in the country, let's talk.
Note: Fully negotiable, but the salary added was the expected starting salary once we wrap up fundraising or are earning revenue. This role COULD evolve into the CEO role if desired.
