Job Posting ID: 79 Location(s): REMOTE Employment Type: Full Time Posted Date: 06/17/2026 Deadline: Until Filled JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Kansas MTSS and Alignment Early Childhood Integration Specialist DEPARTMENT: Kansas Multi-Tier System of Supports and Alignment (MTSS) LOCATION: Remote/Greenbush Service Center REPORTS TO: Kansas MTSS and Alignment Executive Director OVERALL RESPONSIBILITES: The Kansas Multi-Tier System of Supports and Alignment Early Childhood Integration Specialist will join a team of experts to support and carry out the vision and goals of the Kansas MTSS and Alignment’s plan of operation. The Kansas MTSS and Alignment Early Childhood Integration Specialist will be part of a larger training team responsible for ongoing training and coaching of school teams to ensure the successful implementation of Kansas MTSS and Alignment with fidelity. In addition to supporting the statewide efforts for Kansas MTSS and Alignment implementation, this position will also be instrumental in supporting other KSDE initiatives as needs arise. Essential Functions: • Deep knowledge in Early Childhood - grade 3 mathematics; • Experience with early childhood or early elementary evidence-based instructional practices and transition practices; • Experience with development and implementation of tiered systems of supports such as Kansas MTSS and Alignment; • Experience with systems change and effective school improvement processes and practices; • Experience with evidence-based strategies for culturally diverse learners; • Experience training adult learners; • Knowledge and experience with Kansas Early Learning Standards (KELS) and Kansas College and Career Ready Standards (KCCRS). The successful candidate will possess strengths in communication, integrity, collaboration, flexibility, organization, technology use, initiative, and quality work. Maintaining frequent communication with the Kansas MTSS and Alignment Director will be necessary to ensure that direction and efforts are consistent with the goals of the Kansas MTSS and Alignment Project and KSDE. Responsibilities/Duties Participate in/lead activities to support and sustain Kansas MTSS and Alignment statewide Maintain flexibility to change focus of tasks as directed by Project Leadership and KSDE Maintain and broaden knowledge of current educational research which may impact Kansas MTSS and Alignment practices and training Participate in activities to support and move forward KSDE’s vision of coherence and alignment of a school improvement process for education systems to utilize Coordinate efforts for integration of special education and other at-risk student populations into the work Collaborate with other TASN projects to promote an aligned process of improvement Assist in the development of statewide outcome improvement workshops Ensuring feedback loops are developed and used in the service of enacting an effective, coherent system that continually meets the needs of all students and staff Understanding how to utilize inquiry/impact cycles Build, maintain, and sustain appropriate professional relationships with colleagues and clients through times of agreement and times of dissonance Marginal Functions: Participate in development and support of educational projects identified by KSDE at request of Special Education Services Team or Project Leadership Pursue professional development that supports the goals of the Kansas MTSS & Alignment Project at the state and national levels Present at state and national conferences upon request Carry out other duties as assigned Consults With: Kansas State Department of Education, Special Educational Services Team Kansas MTSS & Alignment Project Leadership and Staff District and Building Level Administrators and Staff TASN Staff Renowned Consultants, Authors, Researchers, Etc. Qualifications: Experience at the building and/or district level implementing a multi-tier system of supports or response to intervention principles and evidence-based practices Strong working knowledge of systems change, results-based staff development, adult learning theory, group facilitation, basic evaluation techniques and problem solving Experience working with Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA 2.0) Strong working knowledge of current education research required Experience teaching and/or administering an Early Childhood or Early elementary instructional program required Strong working knowledge of data-based decision making Degree and experience in education required Advanced degree preferred Current Kansas teaching license required Actively involved in development of own professional learning Requirements of The Position: Regular and extensive traveling (approximately 70%) across the state of Kansas Approximately 30% overnight travel Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, etc.) Proficiency with Google Drive and components Ability to clearly communicate technical information in verbal and written form Ability to lift and transfer up to 40 pounds BENEFITS Excellent benefit package: Comprehensive benefits for employees working 1004+ hours per year, including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, flexible spending accounts, and ancillary policies available.
