US OH RemoteThe Executive Director of Housing Finance & Development provides strategic leadership for United Church Homes' affordable housing development, preservation, acquisition, and financing initiatives. This role is responsible for originating, evaluating, financing, and executing affordable housing opportunities that advance organizational growth, asset preservation, portfolio sustainability, and mission impact.

The Executive Director serves as a senior leader and subject matter expert in affordable housing finance, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), HUD programs, RAD conversions, recapitalization strategies, acquisitions, and real estate development. The position leads cross-functional teams and external partners through all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept and underwriting through financing, construction, stabilization, and long-term asset stewardship.

The Executive Director develops and maintains strategic relationships with lenders, investors, syndicators, government agencies, developers, consultants, and community stakeholders while serving as a key advisor to executive leadership on housing finance, capital deployment, portfolio preservation, and growth opportunities.

The position is responsible for advancing a pipeline of development and preservation projects, identifying innovative financing solutions, and ensuring projects are completed successfully, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and aligned with the strategic priorities of United Church Homes.

This position reports to the SVP of Asset Stewardship & Development.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Public Administration, or related field required.

Experience:

Computer Skills:

Proficient use of computers, the Internet, and relevant software programs, including Microsoft Office, Experience with real estate financial modeling and development tracking systems.

Must have strong financial analysis skills. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret business and legal documents. Self-driven, excellent communications both verbal and written, interpersonal, organizational, planning, decision making and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to create and execute successful projects completed on or ahead of schedule, on budget, with high quality and significant community impact. Strong negotiation and internal/external collaboration skills as well as sound judgement.
