Key Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics courses using engaging instructional methods and techniques that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Create comprehensive lesson plans that align with course objectives and institutional guidelines.
- Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines, and evaluate student progress in achieving course objectives.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required, and participate in course and curriculum development, revision, and evaluation.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance and academic performance.
- Perform effective teaching activities, including classroom instruction, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research, and internships.
- Plan, develop, and present organized classroom instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mathematics or a related discipline, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
- Experience in teaching/tutoring mathematics, with a preference for experience in higher education.
- Ability to work under stress, independently, and as a team member.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with students in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in computer operation, multimedia classroom instruction software, and a willingness to learn new computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with learner-centered and high-impact instructional methods.
- Familiarity with educational technology and innovative teaching practices.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in mathematics education.
