The Role: Data Engineer (L5) - Customer Service
As a Data Engineer within the Data Science and Engineering (DSE) team at blithequark, you will be instrumental in crafting data-driven solutions that enhance the Customer Service experience. Your primary focus will be on developing reliable, scalable data pipelines, transforming raw data into actionable business metrics, and collaborating with custom visualization tools to surface valuable insights. This role demands a high degree of autonomy, strong technical acumen, and the ability to navigate the data stack with ease.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data pipelines using big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink, ensuring seamless data processing and analysis.
- Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and Customer Service business owners to develop core business metrics and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Transform raw data into meaningful insights, leveraging advanced SQL skills and a passion for data quality.
- Develop and maintain scalable data architectures, ensuring adaptability to changes in source data or business processes.
- Work closely with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to prioritize projects, drive business growth, and optimize Customer Service investments.
- Utilize Python or Scala to write clean, supportable code, and advocate for data quality and best practices.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records).
- Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design structures that adapt to changes in source data or business processes.
- Proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code.
- Advanced SQL skills, with a strong advocacy for data quality.
