About the Position

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale, distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to deliver the best results for Apple, focusing on planning, building, and operating new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks.
- Utilize your expertise in programming languages such as GoLang, Python, and Java to develop custom software solutions and automate tasks.
- Apply your knowledge of Linux, standard networking protocols, and components to manage and scale distributed systems efficiently.
- Employ configuration management or software delivery platforms (like Puppet, Ansible, and Spinnaker) to manage large numbers of diverse systems.
- Demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience in scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Contribute to the development of microservices architecture and container orchestration with Kubernetes, ensuring seamless service delivery.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a reliability engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused position.
- Advanced experience with programming languages (GoLang, Python, Java) and a passion for designing and building robust systems.
- A strong sense of ownership and integrity, demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration.
- Experience in managing and scaling distributed systems in a cloud environment, with deep systems and infrastructure knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD systems, automation, and containerization.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with delivering, supporting, and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- A background in software development or a related field, with a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent (4+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment).
