Job Overview: Supervisor - Catering Operations & Logistics
We're seeking an experienced Supervisor - Catering Operations & Logistics to provide oversight and direction to our catering vendor at a designated station. As a key member of our cross-divisional operations team, you'll drive improvements to internal and external customer metrics, ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, and develop strong relationships with internal partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor and Performance Management: Analyze operational performance and customer satisfaction data to identify trends, generate meaningful insights, and make data-driven recommendations. Collaborate with the catering vendor to drive ownership of corrective actions, action plans, and timelines.
- Operational Oversight: Be visible and present in both the catering operation and airport operation as needed. Identify and communicate operational risks and process improvement suggestions using daily process observations and real-time analysis of performance data.
- Auditing and Regulatory Compliance: Conduct regular audits ensuring compliance with Catering Operations Business Manual, blithequark Safety Guidelines, and other regulatory requirements. Support investigations related to safety incidents, including corrective action planning.
- Financial Controls: Provide direct oversight of the day-to-day operation and conduct audits to ensure integrity of catering partner inventory management process and reporting. Conduct spot checks assessing inventory levels of kitchen equipment, food, and beverages.
- Change Management: Coordinate implementation of new menu concepts and service enhancements. Provide local support for initiatives like technology enhancements, changes to operational performance metrics, process compliance, and more.
- Leadership, Collaboration, and Partnering: Ensure strong communication and proactive planning with airport partners, including Inflight, SOC, Customer Service, Ramp Service, and the Business Office. Participate in key airport meetings to stay connected with stakeholders and address operational challenges.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business, or related field) or 4 years of relevant work experience
- 2+ years of experience in a Supervisor, Operations, Consulting, or Engineering role
- Project leadership experience
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with leaders and front-line employees from diverse cultures and working divisions
- Effective business writing and speaking skills, with confidence engaging with all levels of management
- Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Self-starter with the ability to both execute independently and effectively collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to work during non-standard hours and peak periods when required to support a global 24/7/365 operation
- Able to work full-time at an airport-based location
- Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or postgraduate education
- 2+ years of Industrial Engineering work experience
- 2+ years of airline catering, airport operations, manufacturing, or related operations salaried (non-hourly) experience
- HACCP, PCQI, or comparable food safety certifications
- Proficiency in more than one language
What We Offer
The salary for this position is $60,000 to $85,000, depending on job-related, non-discriminatory factors like experience, education, and skills.
