The Field Adjustors are responsible for providing excellent customer service & cost control on day-to-day claim handling. This role would be based out of the employee home to allow for greater territory-based coverage and service to our brokers and customers. The Field Adjustor investigates, negotiates, and settles losses on site, completes detailed scopes and appraises contents and building damage, completes moderate business profit loss calculations, interprets, and applies contracts in accordance with operational guidelines. Additional responsibilities include representing the company on Catastrophe Response Initiatives as well as small claim court actions and acting as a witness on the company’s behalf as well as representing Gore in the appraisal process. In addition, the position acts as a service ambassador promoting company image to our policyholders and brokers.This role reports to the Team Leader, overseeing Personal Property Claims.
What will you do in this role:
Field Claim handling
Attend all claims assigned within set designated territory
Catastrophe Claim handling
Set expectations with customer on what to expect throughout the claim
Provide necessary info/ documents: ClaimCare tracker, POL, Non-waivers/ R of R, Contents inventory forms, etc
Outline limitations, exclusions or policy concerns to be further investigated
Identify subrogation opportunities and pursue
Identify fraud concerns and take necessary action
Coordinate vendor attendance, outline need for involvement and set expectations of deliverables.
Take recorded statements as necessary
Photo capture and summary of damages/ sketch of rooms/ property
Complete / issue manual field cheques/ note file for tracking purposes
Identify and send UW risk alerts
Time management to ensure all attendance and required services are delivered with efficiency and quality.
Collect all applicable documents- ie. Lease, invoicing, contracts, financials, etc.
Complete loss reserving including necessary expenses and other duties as assigned.
2-3 week attendance intervals on a rotational basis as needed
Other Duties as assigned:
Attend Small Claims Court Actions
Participate in Appraisal process
Provide dedicated back-up to the T/A Team when required
Mediations, EFD’s, SIU Investigations as requested
What skills you need to succeed:
Secondary school in Business/ technical trade,customer service or a Community college degree
Preferred Industry Certifications – IICRC, XA, HAAG, WETT, CIP
5 years of experience as Property Adjuster
3 Years as Field adjuster- external IA.
3 Years of experience as Field Adjuster
Experience interpreting & applying contract law
Understanding financial statements/ completing moderate calculations
Time and desk management with excellent customer service skills
Ability to multitask and, assertive and confident in delivery
The expected base salary range for this position is $56,000 - $103,500. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
