Head of Digital Operations and Engineering – Service NAM
The Opportunity
You will oversee digital operations and engineering activities across North America within the services organization, guiding the execution of digital offerings, engineering processes, and technology delivery. The role focuses on establishing stable, secure, and scalable operations while advancing engineering practices and digital capabilities. You will address operational challenges related to reliability, speed-to-market, and consistency by defining processes, setting priorities, and aligning technical strategy with business needs. Working across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, you will help simplify workflows and improve coordination. The position also involves acting as a senior operational interface for customers and internal stakeholders, supporting resolution of technical issues and strengthening service delivery performance. Your work contributes to maintaining dependable systems and advancing digital innovation that supports resilient power infrastructure.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Establish and execute operational vision, processes, and standards for engineering teams to improve predictability, delivery speed, and reliability
Set priorities, performance goals, and accountability for service delivery and operational outcomes
Build and scale an operational model while supporting hands-on execution as required
Serve as a senior escalation point for digital execution and engineering issues and oversee risk management and corrective actions
Define roadmaps for engineering and digital execution across enterprise platforms, manufacturing systems, and product ecosystems
Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver digital solutions aligned with organizational needs
Partner with regional, operational, and business stakeholders to align digital and engineering capabilities with strategic goals and connect processes across functions
Build and develop teams through recruitment, mentoring, and fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or related technical field
15+ years of experience in digital engineering, IT operations, or platform leadership
At least 5 years of experience managing cross-functional teams
Experience with digital services and exposure to critical infrastructure or data center operations preferred
Experience building or scaling operational organizations in a global environment
Communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills
