Job description: The Dougherty County School System is seeking a High School Math teacher to join our roster of experienced, motivated, and effective teaching professionals. • Valid Georgia Teacher certification or Charter Waiver Eligible;
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.

• Ability to relate to and motivate all students in a positive manner with respect;
• Ability to effectively navigate and utilize a wide range of educational and career-related technology tools, software applications, and digital platforms while engaging students;
• Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Professional Expectations * Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance;

• Completes all records and reports on time and with accuracy;
• Be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all students;
• Maintains satisfactory performance on the system Evaluation Instrument;
• Performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.

Instructional Planning and Delivery * Develop and implement instructional plans and materials aligned with state standards and curriculum frameworks;

• Plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities;
• Deliver instruction using a variety of methods, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities;
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students and accommodate varying levels of readiness and learning pace.

Assessment and Student Progress * Design and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts;

• Analyze assessment data to evaluate student progress and inform instructional decisions;
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress;
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine assessment tools and strategies.

Classroom Management and Environment * Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere and address behavioral issues constructively.Collaboration and Professional Growth * Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and instructional strategies for enhancing math instruction;

• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, research, and pedagogical approaches in math education.

Additional Duties * Supervise or assist in the supervision of school activities as assigned;

• Perform related duties as assigned as circumstances require.

WORK/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to lift and carry teaching materials, books, or small classroom equipment (typically up to 25 lbs).

• Ability to prepare and manipulate learning materials;
• Ability to stand and actively move around the classroom for extended periods;
• Ability to move between classrooms, hallways, and other school areas as needed.
• Ability to respond quickly in case of emergencies, such as evacuating students or assisting during drills
