IT Security Administrator - Remote
We are looking for an IT Security Administrator to join our team and be responsible for the administration of KBR's Active Directory, Azure/Entra, and other information security systems. This role will ensure that security controls, procedures, and designs are in line with established information security standards to mitigate the risk of data exposure. The IT Security Administrator will process security requests to ensure proper approvals are documented and additions or revisions are consistent with KBR's Standards. This position requires the ability to apply both standard and advanced problem-solving techniques to security challenges.
Responsibilities:
Provide IT Security and System Administration at an Enterprise Level
Create, maintain, and terminate Active Directory accounts
Apply and analyze file permissions on file servers to include AD group creation and file share folder creation
Collaborate with other teams to design and implement secure systems and solutions in line with organizational security needs
Monitor queue to resolve and troubleshoot various system access issues and fulfill security requests in an accurate and efficient manner
Identify and investigate security violations, determine causes, and execute corrective measures to prevent recurrence
Manage and monitor security events and incidents, provide incident response as needed
Participate in security audits and assessments, provide support for any required corrective actions
Maintain knowledge of the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities to ensure proactive defense strategies
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
2 + years of experience in IT security or a related field
Strong knowledge of information security systems, protocols, and standards
Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (Active Directory, Microsoft Azure/Entra, Microsoft Exchange, etc.)
Familiarity with industry-standard security frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Proven ability with incident detection, response, and post-incident analysis
Capacity to communicate technical security issues to non-technical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications:
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CISM)
Cloud security and securing enterprise-level infrastructure experience
PowerShell scripting or automation for security purposes
