Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations for clients in their homes, following physician orders for medications, treatments, and medical services
- Maintain accurate records of patients' conditions and report to physicians periodically concerning adverse developments in a patient's response to treatment
- Provide prompt emergency treatment, including 911 calls if necessary, and educate patients and families on proper diet and health habits
- Supervise diet and cook special meals depending on patient needs, and maintain medical equipment and arrange for medical supplies and drugs
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Patient and empathetic approach when dealing with patients who may be disagreeable or demanding
- Emergency response capabilities in crisis situations
- Sufficient physical strength to move patients, and sufficient vision and hearing ability to observe and communicate with patients
