Regional Vice President, Charter Operations

The Role The Regional Vice President, Charter Operations, is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations, performance, compliance, and student outcomes of Acceleration Academies’ charter school portfolio. Initially overseeing charter schools in South Carolina and Ohio, with responsibility expanding as additional charter schools and states are added, this leader ensures academies operate with excellence while meeting enrollment, retention, academic, financial, and regulatory goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the RVP, Charter Operations partners closely with Academy Directors and cross-functional leaders to drive enrollment growth, student persistence, academic achievement, and charter performance. This position works collaboratively with the RVP, Board Relations & Strategic Partnerships to support governing boards, authorizers, and strategic charter initiatives. Key Responsibilities Academy Leadership & Performance Directly supervise Charter Academy Directors and other assigned team members. Hold academy leaders accountable for achieving enrollment, retention, engagement, credit accumulation, graduation, and financial performance goals. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and student-centered decision-making. Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing academy leaders. Ensure consistent implementation of the Acceleration Academies model across all charter academies. Enrollment & Student Success Partner with academy leadership teams to achieve enrollment growth targets across the charter portfolio. Drive strategies that improve student retention, attendance, engagement, credit accumulation, and graduation outcomes. Monitor leading and lagging indicators of student success and implement interventions when performance falls below expectations. Ensure academy teams effectively execute student support, re-engagement, and persistence strategies. Collaborate with Enrollment, Student Services, and Academic teams to maximize student outcomes and organizational growth. Charter Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with charter contracts, state regulations, federal requirements, and organizational policies. Lead preparation for audits, monitoring reviews, charter renewals, and accountability evaluations. Develop systems and processes that support operational consistency and compliance across multiple states. Monitor compliance, operational, and academic risk areas and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure academies meet all reporting, documentation, attendance, assessment, and accountability requirements. Governance & Strategic Collaboration Partner with the RVP, Board Relations & Strategic Partnerships to provide governing boards and authorizers with accurate operational, academic, financial, and compliance information. Support the preparation of board reports, accountability updates, performance dashboards, and governance documentation. Implement board-approved policies, charter commitments, and strategic initiatives across academies. Collaborate on charter renewal, expansion, and strategic growth initiatives. Support successful authorizer reviews, site visits, and charter performance evaluations. Multi-State Charter Leadership Oversee charter school operations across multiple states. Develop expertise in state-specific accountability, compliance, and operational requirements. Support the successful launch and integration of new charter schools and partnerships as the organization grows. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and student outcomes across the charter portfolio. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience Minimum 7 years of educational leadership experience. Minimum 3 years supervising multiple schools, sites, or educational programs. Demonstrated success in managing multiple charter school locations. Strong preference for experience overseeing charter schools across multiple states. Experience driving enrollment growth, student retention, and academic performance outcomes. Experience with charter accountability, compliance, governance, and operational management. Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational change.
