About the Role Our client, a leader in developing advanced automotive electronics, is seeking a talented and motivated Remote Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to join their dispersed engineering team. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the **United States**. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for cutting-edge automotive applications, including powertrain control, body electronics, and connectivity modules. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement embedded software solutions in C++ for automotive ECUs. Develop software for various automotive systems, including engine control, sensor interfaces, communication modules, and diagnostics. Perform software unit testing, integration testing, and debugging. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, systems, QA) to ensure software meets requirements. Optimize software performance, memory usage, and real-time capabilities. Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded development tools. Participate in code reviews and contribute to software development best practices. Document software designs, code, and test procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects found during testing and in production. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software development. Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or similar. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and tools (e.g., CANoe, Vector tools). Understanding of automotive software development lifecycles and standards (e.g., MISRA C/C++). Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
