Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Apolis is seeking a hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve their CI/CD ecosystem. The role involves leading the evolution of delivery pipelines and mentoring engineering teams in adopting DevOps best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, composite actions, and standardized pipeline templates
- Establish and enforce repository governance standards, including branch protection rules, CODEOWNERS, pull request templates, required reviews, release versioning, and deployment approval workflows
- Manage build and deployment infrastructure, including self-hosted runners, secrets management, and artifact repositories
- Develop reusable patterns and best practices that improve deployment consistency, reliability, and scalability
- Support deployments across on-premises and cloud-based environments, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Containerize applications using Docker and support orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Design and implement deployment strategies that enable consistent configuration, promotion, monitoring, and rollback capabilities across environments
- Lead or support modernization initiatives that move legacy applications toward highly available, resilient, and scalable architectures
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to improve environment consistency, auditability, and automation
- Embed security controls and static application security testing (SAST) tools such as Veracode into CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with development and security teams to automate vulnerability detection and remediation workflows
- Enhance QA and testing capabilities through automated test execution, environment management, and release validation processes
- Establish metrics and reporting that provide visibility into pipeline health, deployment success, and security compliance
Skills
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Strong understanding of GitHub administration, repository management, branching strategies, and pull request workflows
- Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker
- Experience supporting Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or similar technologies
- Experience integrating security tooling and SAST solutions into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor and collaborate across technical teams
