Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Babylist is the leading registry, e-commerce, and content platform for growing families. They are hiring a Director of Product Management for the Registry, responsible for the strategy, vision, and quality of the product while leading a team of Product Managers and driving AI-native product development.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and KPIs for the Babylist Registry experiences end-to-end — including acquisition, registry build, gift giver conversion across 1P and 3P, and the core Babylist Shop funnel
- Set and hold the quality bar. Make the hard tradeoffs between business goals and customer trust, with conviction and clear communication
- Serve as a model for what an AI-first PM looks like at Babylist. Use AI-native workflows in your own work, ship things yourself, and help define the rituals and practices that the rest of the function will adopt
- Multiply through influence. Bring sharper problem framing, tighter customer insight, data analysis, and prototypes that make decisions easier to make and ship work that compounds. Operate as the central commercial and customer owner that lets builder pods accelerate without losing coherence
- Coach and develop a small team of extremely high-performing PMs (already in seat). Create growth paths, address performance issues quickly and kindly, and build a team culture that sets the bar for the broader function
- Contribute to the shape of the Consumer Tech organization. Work with the VP of Product and your peers to evolve our operating model, our hiring bar, and our craft standards as the function transitions
Skills
- Demonstrated company-level product leader with a track record of owning complex consumer products end-to-end
- Held Principal/Director, Sr. Director PM or VP roles
- Experience at meaningful scale with proven results
- Strategic foresight to articulate product vision for 6, 12, and 24 months
- Deep customer expertise with ability to understand and co-create with users
- Fluent in business, able to read P&Ls and defend unit economics models
- Outcome ownership with a focus on impact rather than just shipping
- Ability to be a force multiplier through sharp problem framing and communication
- Ownership of quality standards and principles for product development
- Technical fluency, potentially with a CS degree or experience as a developer
- Adaptability to change with a humble, low-ego approach
- Clarity of thought and communication that encourages productive conflict
- Experience in hiring, coaching, and developing PMs
Benefits
- Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
- Generous paid parental leave and PTO
- Winter Wonder Week: the whole company takes a paid week off at the end of the year, whether or not you celebrate anything, so everyone's out at once and comes back refreshed
- Remote work stipend to set up your office
- Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
