They are seeking a highly experienced Duck Creek Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of policy administration solutions on the Duck Creek platform, enabling large-scale digital transformation programs for P&C insurers.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture for Duck Creek Policy implementations, including data model, product configuration, workflows, and integrations
- Define target architecture, solution blueprints, and design standards aligned with enterprise architecture and program objectives
- Ensure alignment with Duck Creek best practices, upgrade path considerations, and SaaS constraints (if applicable)
- Design scalable solutions covering rating, underwriting rules, document generation, and policy lifecycle management
- Act as a trusted advisor to client architects, business leaders, and program stakeholders
- Lead architecture review boards, design workshops, and solution walkthroughs
- Mentor developers, config leads, and junior architects
- Support RFPs, solutioning, and proposal development for Duck Creek programs
- Drive low-code/no-code configuration approach leveraging Duck Creek Author tools
- Establish configuration design principles, coding standards, and governance frameworks
- Review and approve configuration artifacts to ensure consistency, reusability, and maintainability
- Provide guidance on product model design and versioning strategy
- Define integration patterns across policy, billing, claims, and external systems
- Guide implementation of API-based integrations and event-driven architectures
- Ensure robust handling of data flows, validations, and transformations
- Ensure solution design meets performance, scalability, and resiliency requirements
- Identify configuration or design patterns that may impact transaction response times or system throughput
- Collaborate with performance engineering teams to optimize rule execution, data retrieval, and service interactions
Skills
- 15+ years of experience in Solution architecture and integration design expertise
- Hands‑on exposure to; Upstream and downstream integrations; REST APIs, Composed JSON/XML payloads; Integration troubleshooting and impact analysis; Middleware / iPaaS tools (Azure Logic Apps / MuleSoft)
- 8+ years in Duck Creek implementations to include Policy configuration and architecture
- Deep expertise in: Product configuration; Rules and workflows; Rating, forms, and product models; Transact, User Management, Party Configuration, Express 2.0/ Express 3.0
- Experience in large-scale transformation programs to include understanding of SaaS architecture and DCOD operating model
- Knowledge of; Release cycles & quarterly upgrades; Feature toggles and environment constraints; Tenant based configurations; Impact analysis of Duck Creek releases on custom configurations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or MCA
