Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Space Ocean Corp is developing the infrastructure needed for sustainable operations in space. They are seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize spacecraft trajectories for future orbital logistics missions.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize spacecraft trajectories for orbital logistics missions
- Perform orbital mechanics analyses for Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO), Geostationary Orbit (GEO), highly elliptical orbits, and transfer trajectories
- Develop and validate mission concepts, flight profiles, and maneuver strategies
- Model spacecraft performance while accounting for perturbations, uncertainties, and operational constraints
- Analyze rendezvous, proximity operations, and orbital transfer opportunities
- Support mission planning, launch window analysis, and mission feasibility studies
- Develop simulation tools using Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar languages
- Collaborate with systems, propulsion, guidance, navigation & control (GNC), and mission operations teams
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and design documentation
- Support proposal development, mission architecture studies, and technology demonstrations
Skills
- BS or MS in Aerospace Engineering, Astrodynamics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Knowledge of orbital mechanics and spacecraft flight dynamics
- Experience with one or more mission analysis tools such as: STK, GMAT, FreeFlyer, Orekit, NASA GMAT
- Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience with mission design for satellites or deep-space missions
- Familiarity with rendezvous and proximity operations
- Understanding of spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control
- Experience with optimization techniques or Monte Carlo analysis
- Knowledge of autonomous mission planning or space mission operations
- Familiarity with NASA or commercial spaceflight mission requirements
