Meet Life Sciences is a healthcare-focused marketing agency seeking an experienced Freelance Social Media Strategist with hands-on experience supporting regulated pharmaceutical brands. This role involves developing and executing compliant social media programs for healthcare professional and patient audiences, requiring both strategic thinking and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop social media strategies that align with brand objectives and engagement goals across HCP and patient audiences
- Evaluate the competitive social landscape to identify opportunities, recommend channel strategies, and establish content direction
- Provide strategic guidance on launching, optimizing, and managing social media channels for regulated pharmaceutical brands
- Develop compliant social media workflows, including content review processes, moderation guidelines, and escalation procedures
- Partner with analytics teams to establish measurement frameworks, reporting dashboards, and performance KPIs
- Help create and refine social governance best practices, documentation, and scalable processes
- Recommend opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance social listening, reporting, and workflow efficiencies while maintaining regulatory compliance
- Collaborate closely with creative, account, medical, legal, regulatory, and analytics teams to ensure successful program execution
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in social media strategy, including direct experience supporting prescription pharmaceutical or other regulated healthcare brands
- Hands-on experience developing and managing social media initiatives across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant social channels
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing regulations, MLR review processes, fair balance requirements, and adverse event reporting considerations
- Direct pharmaceutical advertising agency experience REQUIRED
- Experience developing social media governance frameworks, playbooks, or standard operating procedures
- Experience supporting both HCP and patient-focused social media programs
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools for social listening, reporting, content organization, or workflow automation
- Experience working with social media platform representatives or support teams is a plus
