Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Elektron Energy is a large, privately held Bitcoin mining company seeking a Legal Counsel to join their legal team. The role involves managing commercial contracts, providing legal support across business operations, and maintaining corporate governance as the company scales.
Responsibilities
- Leading commercial contracting across the business, including vendor, services, supply, and infrastructure agreements, and owning energy and hosting documentation from term sheet through execution
- Providing day-to-day legal support across business operations, including policy development and general corporate advice for operational, finance, and cross-divisional teams
- Maintaining corporate governance across Elektron entities and building internal policies that reduce legal and operational risk as the business grows
- Managing disputes and outside counsel engagements end to end, including scoping, cost oversight, and keeping the legal team current on active matters
- Contributing to tax, restructuring, and M&A activity alongside the legal team and cross-divisional stakeholders
Skills
- Experience as a qualified lawyer with a strong commercial contracting foundation and a track record of running matters independently from start to close
- The organizational instincts to manage a broad portfolio without losing visibility across open items, and a natural habit of keeping stakeholders current
- Experience working directly with non-legal teams and translating legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance
- Exposure to multi-jurisdiction matters and familiarity with at least one of: energy contracting, equipment importation and trade compliance, or corporate governance across multiple entities
- Genuine interest in Bitcoin, digital assets, or the infrastructure behind them
