The Accounting Manager role involves managing the company’s global financial consolidation and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and leading a team to deliver accurate financial information for decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a power user of financial consolidation and reporting systems (e.g., Workday, Office Connect), optimizing system capabilities, data integrity, and reporting efficiency
- Lead the global monthly close and consolidation process, ensuring timely, accurate completion
- Drive continuous improvements to close timeliness, accuracy, and predictability, including root cause analysis of close issues and recurring adjustments
- Coordinate with global, regional, and revenue accounting teams to resolve issues, drive consistency, and ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
- Perform variance analysis and validate results against underlying accounting records in partnership with regional teams
- Ensure compliance with global accounting policies and US GAAP
- Support technical accounting initiatives, including new accounting standard implementations and complex contract reviews
- Maintain audit ready documentation and serve as a primary liaison for external auditors
- Support and enhance the financial reporting control environment, including identification and remediation of control gaps
- Support enterprise accounting initiatives and drive continuous improvement across close, consolidation, and reporting processes
- Lead, coach, and develop members of the financial reporting and consolidation team, fostering accountability and high performance
- Build strong relationships with finance and business leaders, proactively identifying issues and delivering solutions
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA
- Public accounting experience
- 7 years progressive accounting experience, including experience managing people
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and global financial reporting requirements
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a global, matrixed environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in managing financial consolidations and global close processes
- Experience with Workday Financials and/or Office Connect (or similar consolidation and reporting tools)
