Hirextra is the world's first staffing aggregator, and they are seeking a Test Development Engineer to support electronics manufacturing test operations. The ideal candidate will focus on maintaining and improving existing test solutions while supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Build, qualify, and maintain test fixtures and associated hardware for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and electronic systems
- Support production testing activities and ensure test equipment remains operational and effective
- Maintain and improve existing test solutions, fixtures, and test stations
- Troubleshoot tester issues and support manufacturing teams with failure analysis and debugging activities
- Analyze test data and failure modes to identify root causes and implement corrective action
- Assist in reducing equipment downtime and improving test throughput
- Document test procedures, fixture specifications, and troubleshooting findings
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing test processes
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure efficient test operations
Skills
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, test engineering, or production test support
- Experience building, qualifying, and maintaining test fixtures and test hardware
- Experience supporting PCBAs and electronic assemblies in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of SMT board-level testing and electronic assembly test methodologies
- Experience with test automation frameworks and production test environments
- Experience performing failure analysis, root cause investigations, and tester debugging
- Familiarity with test coverage concepts and manufacturing test processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
