CyberX Info System is seeking a hands-on Network Automation Engineer with deep expertise in fiber access technologies and strong Python development skills. The ideal candidate will work directly with network devices, analyze real-time configurations, and develop automation solutions to optimize operations in a telecom access network environment.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with access network devices (ONTs and OLTs) to analyze configurations and operational data
- Develop and implement Python-based automation scripts based on live device insights
- Troubleshoot and optimize fiber access network performance
- Interface with central office and customer premises equipment environments
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve network efficiency and automation coverage
- Ensure secure and compliant access to network infrastructure
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with ONT (Optical Network Terminal) infrastructure (primarily in central office environments)
- Strong hands-on experience with OLT (Optical Line Terminal) systems at customer or field locations
- Proven experience in Python programming for automation and scripting
- Ability to independently access devices, interpret configurations, and develop solutions
- Familiarity with telecom access network deployments
- Experience with Nokia and/or Calix network equipment
- Background working on Verizon-like environments or similar (e.g., VNM-type roles)
- Knowledge of network provisioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
