PCI Professional Services is seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Engineer to support the design, implementation, migration, and ongoing operations of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments for enterprise healthcare systems. The role involves engineering secure and scalable cloud infrastructure while collaborating with various teams to ensure successful cloud adoption and compliance with security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, configure, and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments for enterprise healthcare applications
- Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads
- Engineer cloud environments that align with Oracle Well-Architected Framework principles and enterprise architecture standards
- Develop infrastructure standards, deployment templates, and operational procedures for OCI environments
- Configure and administer Oracle Cloud networking, compute, storage, identity, and security services
- Lead and support cloud migration initiatives from on-premises data centers to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Design and execute lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and modernization strategies for enterprise applications
- Assess existing infrastructure and develop migration roadmaps and implementation plans
- Perform cloud readiness assessments, dependency mapping, and migration planning
- Coordinate migration activities with application owners, database administrators, infrastructure teams, and cybersecurity personnel
- Validate migrated environments through testing, performance tuning, and operational readiness reviews
- Deploy and administer: Virtual Machines (VMs), Compute Instances, Block Storage, Object Storage, File Storage, Load Balancers, Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), Subnets, DNS, VPN and FastConnect
- Configure high availability and disaster recovery architectures
- Implement backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Monitor cloud resource utilization and optimize performance and cost
- Implement Oracle Cloud security best practices
- Configure Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, compartments, groups, and security domains
- Support compliance with: DoD RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, HIPAA, Zero Trust Architecture principles
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain secure cloud operations
- Support continuous monitoring and security auditing activities
- Automate cloud deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop reusable deployment templates and automation scripts
- Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
- Utilize automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Implement configuration management and cloud governance standards
- Monitor cloud infrastructure health, availability, and performance
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, networking, and virtualization layers
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Participate in change management, release management, and maintenance activities
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Provide recommendations regarding cloud architecture, modernization initiatives, and operational improvements
- Participate in architecture reviews and engineering governance boards
- Develop engineering documentation including: Architecture diagrams, Migration plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Build guides, Runbooks, Disaster Recovery documentation
Skills
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise IT
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience
- Experience planning and executing enterprise cloud migration projects
- Demonstrated experience supporting lift-and-shift cloud migrations from on-premises infrastructure
- Strong understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure architecture and services
- Experience administering enterprise virtual machine environments
- Experience supporting mission-critical healthcare or government enterprise systems
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, routing, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity
- Experience implementing cloud storage solutions and backup strategies
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and cloud operations
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting Military Health System (MHS GENESIS) or Defense Health Agency (DHA) environments
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Professional or Architect certification
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Lift Services
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server administration
- Familiarity with Oracle Database technologies and Exadata environments
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
