Walsworth LLP is a 60+ attorney law firm with offices in California, and they are seeking a full-time, fully-remote Revenue Operations Manager to join their Finance team. The role focuses on overseeing the firm's revenue cycle, legal billing, collections, and finance systems while collaborating with various stakeholders to maximize revenue and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Firm's billing, collections, cash applications, write-offs, and accounts receivable processes
- Oversee monthly billing cycles and ensure client invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with client guidelines
- Monitor aged receivables and implement collection strategies to improve cash flow
- Manage e-billing platforms, invoice submissions, appeals, and payment tracking
- Partner with attorneys and staff to resolve billing disputes, payment issues, and improve realization rates
- Manage complex insurance defense billing and ensure compliance with carrier billing guidelines and UTBMS coding requirements
- Review billing reductions, rejections, and appeals to maximize reimbursement and revenue recovery
- Assist with the Firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including client-related accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end closing
- Support the Accounting Director with financial reporting, forecasting, financial analysis, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and support internal control procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- With the Accounting Manager, provide leadership, training, and support to accounting and billing staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Partner with the Accounting Director, Firm Leadership, and department managers to support financial and revenue objectives
- Actively participate in Firm-wide financial initiatives and contribute recommendations to improve revenue cycle performance and operational efficiency
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting, billing, or revenue management experience in a law firm
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing accounting, billing, or revenue staff
- Strong knowledge of legal billing, collections, trust accounting, and law firm financial operations
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Extensive experience with complex insurance defense billing and e-billing systems, including BillBlast
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial reporting abilities
- Experience with Aderant Expert or other legal accounting software
