AlzaGlobal is a contract manufacturing services company focused on making India's manufacturing capabilities accessible to US-based industrial buyers. They are seeking a Sales Engineer to build relationships with procurement teams and manage customer accounts, ensuring smooth communication between the US and India-based operations team.
Responsibilities
- Map and prioritize target accounts — small to mid-size US manufacturers, OEMs, and distributors who source machined or fabricated components globally
- Build conversations, not just pipelines. Reach out to procurement managers, supply chain leads, and engineering teams through your existing network, trade events, LinkedIn, and referrals
- Understand customer sourcing requirements deeply — tolerances, materials, volumes, lead times — and translate them into clear, costed proposals in collaboration with our technical and operations team in India
- Own the customer relationship from first contact through order confirmation. Follow up on quotes, address concerns, and make sure the handoff to operations is clean
- Represent AlzaGlobal at industry trade shows, regional manufacturing events, and supplier summits in the US
- Feed market intelligence back to our leadership team — what customers are asking for, where we are losing, and what is working
- Support the drafting of RFQ responses, capability statements, and customer-specific proposals
Skills
- 8 to 10 years of overall professional experience, with the majority spent in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor development, or supply chain roles in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Prior exposure to contract manufacturing, machined components, fabricated parts, or engineered goods — either as a buyer or in a vendor-facing capacity
- A genuine network within US industrial buying organizations. You should be able to pick up the phone and have a real conversation with a procurement manager or engineering lead
- Experience managing supplier relationships, running RFQ processes, or handling cross-border sourcing is a significant advantage
- You may not have held a formal sales title before. That is fine. What matters is that you have influenced decisions, built trust with stakeholders, and are comfortable asking for business
- You can write a clear, well-structured proposal and present it without it feeling like a pitch deck exercise
- You are patient with longer sales cycles and do not need a deal to close in 30 days to stay motivated
- Straightforward communicator — direct without being abrasive, confident without overselling
- Organized and self-directed. You manage your own time, follow up without being chased, and keep your commitments
- Genuinely curious about manufacturing — you enjoy understanding how things are made and why tolerances matter
- Comfortable working across time zones with a team in India. Clear written communication is essential
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a closely related technical field is strongly preferred
- A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Operations with demonstrated hands-on technical exposure will also be considered
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus, though not a requirement
