Health Management Associates is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting AI-enabled software solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The role involves collaboration with various teams to deliver secure and reliable technology solutions for healthcare environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable AI-enabled applications, APIs, and data solutions
- Translate business and client requirements into secure, production-ready technical solutions
- Develop cloud, data engineering, and AI/ML solutions using Azure, Databricks, and related technologies
- Build and integrate AI-enabled capabilities including generative AI, predictive analytics, automation, and NLP solutions
- Apply modern software engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
- Support solution optimization, troubleshooting, scalability, and operational performance improvement
- Design and support secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that protect healthcare and other sensitive data
- Apply healthcare privacy, security, governance, and compliance standards throughout the solution lifecycle
- Support platform reliability, monitoring, and operational improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with product owners, consultants, data engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions
- Contribute to technical standards, architecture discussions, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging AI, cloud, healthcare data, and software engineering trends
- Support a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
Skills
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or related field required
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience required
- Experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure environments required
- Experience developing AI-enabled applications, data engineering solutions, and cloud-native technologies required
- Strong software engineering and application development skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, and scalable data engineering practices
- Understanding of AI/ML solution development, deployment, and operationalization concepts
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, compliance, and governance requirements
- Ability to design and support secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment
- Master's degree and relevant cloud, data engineering, or AI/ML certifications preferred
- Experience working with healthcare data, HIPAA-regulated environments, or other highly regulated industries preferred
