Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets by automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners. They are seeking a Staff Product Designer to own complex problem spaces, partner with Product and Engineering, and shape the design direction of a core Fieldguide product.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for complex, ambiguous audit workflows, from problem definition through shipped solutions
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-quality, scalable implementations
- Drive design execution with minimal direction, operating effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Translate customer needs, research insights, and business goals into clear user journeys, interaction models, and polished UI
- Balance speed and iteration with usability, consistency, and long-term product quality
- Advocate for users while accounting for technical, regulatory, and business constraints
- Own a significant product area or customer journey, anticipating downstream impacts across workflows and personas
- Set a high bar for craft and influence by contributing to the design system, mentoring peers, and serving as a trusted design voice
Skills
- You operate as a strategic IC — you don't just solve problems, you decide which problems matter
- You think several steps ahead, anticipating how decisions in one area ripple across others
- You're comfortable influencing senior PM and Engineering leaders, not just your immediate collaborators
- Experience shaping how AI-assisted workflows get designed at a systemic level, not just within a single flow
- You've coached or mentored other designers and can articulate why, not just what
- You set a bar for craft and consistency that others look to as the standard
- You can hold a long-term point of view while still shipping incrementally
- Experience designing for audit, accounting, compliance, or other regulated domains
- Track record of shaping design strategy across multiple teams, not just a single product area
- Experience building or scaling design systems, standards, or team-wide processes
- Background in workflow-heavy, document-centric, or B2B SaaS products
- Experience coaching or managing designers, formally or informally
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices at scale
