Calculated Hire is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support a Commercial Operations Project Delivery team focused on the modernization and standardization of operational documentation. This role involves reviewing, updating, and converting existing Standard Operating Procedures into a new enterprise-wide template and documentation framework.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and inventory existing SOPs, process documents, work instructions, and operational procedures
- Convert legacy documentation into standardized enterprise-approved templates and formats
- Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, validate, and clarify process information
- Leverage Microsoft Copilot and other productivity tools to improve documentation efficiency, consistency, and quality
- Ensure documentation aligns with organizational standards for structure, formatting, and readability
- Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Maintain version control and documentation governance throughout the project lifecycle
- Create clear, concise, and user-friendly content for operational, procedural, and business audiences
- Participate in project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder reviews
- Support quality assurance efforts by validating completed documentation against established standards
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, business documentation, process documentation, or related roles
- Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, process flows, work instructions, or operational documentation
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and document management skills
- Ability to translate complex business processes into clear and understandable documentation
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in project-based environments with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience supporting banking, financial services, operations, commercial lending, or corporate functions
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot or other AI-powered productivity tools
- Experience with document management systems, knowledge repositories, or content management platforms
- Exposure to process improvement, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives
- Understanding of documentation governance and change management practices
