Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Apartment List is building a bold, renter-first social presence with a focus on TikTok. They are seeking a TikTok-native content creator to develop original content and manage community interactions, shaping the brand's voice on the platform.
Responsibilities
- Be an integral part of our organic, B2C social team
- Create original, on-camera short-form video content built specifically for TikTok (and cross-posting where it makes sense)
- Own TikTok community management: responding to comments, engaging with creators, participating in trends and duets/stitches in a way that feels human, not corporate
- Stay ahead of TikTok trends, sounds, and formats — and have strong opinions about which ones are worth our time
- Write your own hooks and scripts optimized for the first 3 seconds
- Film and edit content using creator-first tools (CapCut, in-app editors, etc.)
- Contribute ideas that help us evolve our voice, tone, and creative approach across all social channels
Skills
- 2+ years creating short-form organic social video, either for yourself, a brand, or both
- A portfolio or active social presence that shows your on-camera style and creative POV
- Genuinely fluent in TikTok culture — the pacing, the humor, the unspoken rules, and what makes content feel human, not overly polished or 'brand-y'
- Understanding the difference between trend-chasing and trend-discernment
- Love experimenting with new formats and aren't afraid to try something bold
- Understanding how to balance humor, clarity, and credibility
- Ability to take a creative direction and elevate it with your own ideas
- Think community management is actually fun, not a chore
- Strong on-camera presence and storytelling instincts
- Experience with short-form video editing tools (CapCut, platform-native tools, Canva, etc.)
- Ability to self-shoot content (phone is great—this is about ideas and execution, not production value)
- A sharp eye for what makes content scroll-stopping
