Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Confidential is a growing multi-site behavioral health organization seeking a Vice President of Human Resources. This strategic leader will be responsible for building and running the full HR function, advising the senior leadership team on people strategy, and ensuring effective execution of HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic member of the senior leadership team, advising the CEO and executive leaders on people strategy, organizational design, workforce planning, and business priorities
- Develop and lead the HR strategy, roadmap, and operating model to support company growth, scalability, employee experience, and organizational performance
- Lead, coach, and develop the HR team, establishing clear priorities, accountability, service standards, and department-wide processes
- Partner with operational leaders to strengthen staffing, retention, engagement, leadership capability, and workforce effectiveness across locations
- Oversee total rewards programs, including benefits strategy, renewals, vendor partnerships, open enrollment, employee communications, and cost-effective plan administration
- Own performance management strategy, including goal alignment, review cycles, manager coaching, feedback practices, performance improvement, and accountability processes
- Lead employee relations strategy and serve as the executive escalation point for complex investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and risk mitigation
- Oversee HRIS, people analytics, and reporting; ensure data integrity and provide leadership with actionable workforce insights and metrics
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and healthcare-related employment requirements; maintain audit-ready records, policies, and HR practices
- Provide executive oversight of workers' compensation, claims management, return-to-work processes, leave coordination, safety partnership, and related risk programs
- Lead HR transformation, policy development, process improvement, and change management initiatives that improve consistency, efficiency, and employee experience
- Support leadership development, succession planning, and manager training to build a strong, accountable, values-aligned leadership culture
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role
- Demonstrated experience managing benefits, HRIS, workers' compensation, and compliance functions directly
- Strong command of HR data and analytics, with the ability to translate numbers into a clear narrative for executive audiences
- Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee relations and compliance matters
- Proven ability to move fluidly between strategic planning and tactical execution
- Clear, confident communicator, in writing and in person, across all levels of the organization
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or a related human services setting
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification
