About the role
The Data Cloud Technical Architect designs and implements data-driven marketing and customer engagement solutions, with a primary focus on Salesforce Data Cloud (Data360).
This role is responsible for architecting unified customer data platforms that power analytics, segmentation, and activation across the marketing ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data modeling, identity resolution, and data activation, with the ability to connect data strategy to business outcomes.
This role leads technical solution design, oversees build quality, and remains hands-on as needed. A high-performing Technical Architect is comfortable leading both technical architecture and business consulting conversations, ensuring solutions are scalable, measurable, and aligned to customer goals.
Experience with broader Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities supports downstream activation and analytics. Marketing Cloud Personalization experience is nice to have. Exposure to Marketing Cloud Next or advanced Marketing Cloud capabilities is a plus, particularly in Data Cloud–driven use cases.

What You’ll Do
- Translate business requirements into scalable, data-driven technical solutions
- Design end-to-end architectures with a focus on data ingestion, unification, and activation
- Architect and implement Salesforce Data Cloud (Data360) solutions
- Define data models, identity resolution strategies, and segmentation frameworks
- Lead technical design discussions and guide implementation teams
- Communicate trade-offs, constraints, and architectural decisions clearly to stakeholders
- Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solution delivery
- Partner with marketing and analytics teams to enable personalization and insights
Required Skills
Salesforce Data Cloud (Primary Focus)
- Proven experience delivering multiple end-to-end Salesforce Data Cloud implementations (required)
- Strong hands-on experience with data ingestion, transformation, and harmonization
- Data modeling and schema design expertise
- Identity resolution concepts and implementation experience
- Audience segmentation and activation strategies
- Understanding of CDP architecture and real-world use cases
- Data governance and data quality best practices
- Experience integrating multiple data sources (CRM, web, mobile, third-party data)
- Experience leveraging Tableau with Salesforce Data Cloud to visualize unified customer data and drive actionable insights
Core Technical Architect Competencies
- End-to-end solution ownership
- Integration patterns and data flow design
- Architecture documentation and diagramming
- Client-facing technical leadership
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Marketing Cloud & Personalization (Nice to Have)
- Cross-channel marketing analytics and reporting

Certifications
Candidates should hold one or more of the following Salesforce certifications:
- Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant (highly preferred)
- Salesforce System Architect or Application Architect
- Salesforce Platform Developer I or II
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer
- Salesforce AI Associate
Preferred
- Experience with MCP (Marketing Cloud Platform / Next ecosystem)
- Broader MarTech ecosystem experience
- 2+ years of experience in data modeling
- Prior experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)
