Senior Human Resources Manager

An established, specialist law firm is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to lead and shape its firmwide HR function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving HR strategy, overseeing talent acquisition, and ensuring best-in-class people practices across a growing, multi-office environment.
The Role
This role will act as a strategic partner to firm leadership, with full ownership of the HR function, including recruiting, compliance, employee relations, and organisational development. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing initiatives that support long-term growth, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
• Lead firmwide recruiting strategy across attorneys and business services
• Partner with senior stakeholders on hiring plans, forecasting, and search firm management
• Track and analyse recruitment metrics; ensure compliance across all hiring processes
HR Strategy & Leadership
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on workforce planning, organisational design, and culture
• Lead and develop the HR team, driving performance and accountability
• Oversee performance management, compensation planning, and employee engagement initiatives
• Support DEI programmes in partnership with internal committees
Compliance & Employee Relations
• Oversee employment law compliance, policies, and handbook updates
• Manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations and performance management processes
• Ensure HR processes are scalable, compliant, and audit-ready
HR Operations
• Provide oversight of HR operations including benefits, HRIS, and data governance
• Partner cross-functionally with payroll, finance, IT, and operations teams
• Support internal career development and progression programmes
Candidate Profile
• 10+ years’ progressive HR experience, with 3+ years in a leadership capacity
• Experience within a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and full-cycle recruitment
• Proven experience leading and developing HR teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience with HRIS platforms (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or SHRM-SCP/SPHR desirable
Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary: $125,000 – $175,000 (DOE)
