Job description: Facility Design Expert (VDS Remote Contract)OverviewOur private equity client is seeking an experienced Facility Design Expert to lead the design and planning of a 250,000 sq. ft. injection molding facility. This is a 12-month remote contract position with a potential contract-to-hire opportunity. The daily rate is competitive and based on experience (DOE).Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Planning: Develop detailed layout plans, architectural, and engineering drawings for a 250,000 sq. ft. injection molding facility, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.Client Collaboration: Work closely with the client to understand operational needs, preferences, and project requirements to create functional and efficient facility designs.Technical Expertise: Utilize CAD software, 3D modeling tools, and other design software to produce high-quality, precise design deliverables.Project Management: Create cost estimates, establish project timelines, and manage resources to ensure project milestones are met within budget.Space Utilization and Workflow Analysis: Conduct analyses to optimize facility layout, ensuring efficient workflows and maximum space utilization for injection molding operations.Sustainability and Efficiency: Incorporate sustainable design practices and energy-efficient solutions to enhance facility performance and reduce environmental impact.Collaboration: Partner with architects, engineers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with client goals.Skills and QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, engineering, or a related field.Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and 3D modeling tools (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino).Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to optimize facility design and workflows.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with clients and project stakeholders.Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards relevant to manufacturing facilities.Project Management: Proven experience in managing project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient practices.Experience: Prior experience designing industrial or manufacturing facilities, preferably injection molding or similar environments, is highly desirable.Contract DetailsDuration: 12 months, with potential for contract-to-hire.Location: Fully remote (Virtual Design Services).Compensation: Competitive daily rate based on experience (DOE).Start Date: Immediate.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume, portfolio of relevant design projects, and a brief cover letter outlining your experience designing industrial facilities to .
