Sr. Data Engineer (Databricks/Cloud) - Remote (would need 4-5 hr. overlap with the Pacific Time)
This is a senior technical contributor and developer role that requires a very good understanding of cloud architecture and highly scalable data workflows. The ideal candidate is very capable of high-quality work against technical and schedule challenges while following strong software design and process principles.
The client is based in the bay area. You will work 100% remotely but the position needs 4-5 hours overlap with the team based on Pacific Time.
What you will do:
Design, develop and deliver company-wide solutions responsible for managing large volumes of data
Ensure solutions are developed based on a high-quality, cloud-first scalable architecture.
Support analysis and visualization of data for various stakeholders.
Serve as a senior member of the project scrum team and follow industry best practice software development processes.
Act as a technical mentor for other data platform developers.
Key Requirements:
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field.
• 6+ years of solid commercial experience designing and building cloud-based solutions.
• Strong experience in data warehousing -Databricks.
• Must have experience in Public Cloud - GCP is preferred but not required.
• The data ingested is specifically in support of sales/ operational pipelines, though that specific experience is nice to have but not required.
• Detailed knowledge of challenges related to capturing and processing high volumes of data including Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
• Working knowledge of at least one commercial or open-source data pipeline/platform.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, and Domo.
• Experience or solid theoretical understanding of data workflows including:
• Ingestion.
• Batch and stream processing.
• Storage and archiving.
• Visualization/Reporting and Dashboards.
• Experience with Machine learning is nice to have but not required.
• Problem-solving and debugging skills.
The key is experience with Cloud, Databricks, data pipelining, managing PII data, and data visualization.
Duration - 6 Months + extendible
Pay Rate - $60 to $80 per hr. DOE
Job Type - Contract
The interview process will include 2 rounds of technical interviews.
