Startup Foundry is a Silicon Valley accelerator for early-stage founders going from zero to one. We are launching our first cohort and building toward a venture fund. We are looking for a Venture Intern to support our accelerator and help build the foundation for our investment arm.
This is a volunteer role ideal for someone actively looking to break into venture capital and wants hands-on experience working directly with founders, investors, and the accelerator ecosystem.
What You Will Be Doing
• Source and evaluate early-stage founder applications to the accelerator
• Research and build our mentor, speaker, and investor pipeline
• Support founder outreach and relationship management
• Help coordinate and moderate accelerator sessions and office hours
• Attend and contribute to deal flow discussions and founder evaluations
• Assist with content that positions Startup Foundry in the VC and founder ecosystem (LinkedIn, Twitter, newsletter)
• Support partnership outreach to investors, VCs, and ecosystem partners
• Help plan and execute events including Twitter Spaces and founder panels
What You Will Get
• Direct exposure to how an accelerator sources, evaluates, and supports founders from zero to one
• Hands-on experience building a venture pipeline from the ground up
• Access to founders, investors, and operators across the startup ecosystem
• A strong reference and network in Silicon Valley
• Real work you can point to in VC interviews — not coffee runs and spreadsheet formatting
• Visibility into how an accelerator transitions into a venture fund
What We Are Looking For
• Genuinely passionate about venture capital and the startup ecosystem
• Can evaluate early-stage startups — you understand what makes a founder and idea worth backing
• Strong communicator who can hold conversations with founders and investors
• Active on Twitter and LinkedIn and understands how the startup ecosystem operates online
• Self-directed and reliable — you take ownership and follow through without being chased
• Based in the US, preferably San Francisco or Bay Area
• Currently exploring or actively trying to break into venture capital
• Prior experience with startups, accelerators, fellowships, or VC clubs is a plus but not required
• Available for 5-10 hours per week
