The Community & Social Media Manager will be responsible for growing and engaging the user community across social platforms and within the app, planning and publishing content, and executing social media campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Growing and engaging Hoot’s user community across social platforms and within the app
- Planning, creating, and publishing social content that educates users about Canopies, Echoes, HootDeals, and other core features
- Monitoring social channels, responding to community inquiries, moderating conversations, and gathering feedback to inform product and content decisions
- Developing and executing social media campaigns
- Collaborating with marketing and product teams on launches and events
- Tracking performance metrics to optimize reach and engagement
- Identifying community advocates
- Supporting local and pop-up activations
- Experimenting with new formats to showcase real-time, presence-based interactions
Skills
- Strong social media marketing and social media optimization (SMO) skills, with experience managing brand presence across major platforms
- Excellent written communication and writing abilities, including clear, engaging, and platform-appropriate messaging
- Ability to develop and execute content strategy aligned with community growth, product updates, and brand positioning
- Experience in online community management, including moderation, conflict resolution, and fostering positive engagement
- Comfort with analytics tools, reporting on key metrics, and using data to refine campaigns and community initiatives
- Familiarity with mobile apps, location-based or social platforms, and interest in privacy-first, real-time social technology
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently in a remote environment, and collaborate across distributed teams
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
